Water Health - Drinking Filtered Water - 1 of 4

Water is Sacred

We live on a ball of water. There is nothing on this planet that has not been influenced by water. Our planet is about 75% water. interestingly enough, we also are about 75% water. Nothing on this planet can live without the water.

In modern western society, we see water as no more than a commodity. To be bought an sold and moved as we please, through miles of pipes, to places that there is no water. In order to create town and cities that would otherwise be completely uninhabitable. The way we treat water has no honor or respect to one of the main things we cannot do without.

The truth is... Water is sacred. Every societies religion has some sort of water ritual. Water has been an integral part of all life and ancient uneducated, to our standards, understood the importance of water in a way that we don't. Our society is removed from the natural flow and life cycle of water.

Water can heal us, but only if it is treated with respect. If you have ever been next to a natural waterfall, you understand the freshness that is created by this natural phenomenon. Now think about how few times you have been exposed to that type of energetic contact. If you are like most of us, not very often. That's why it stands out in our minds so strongly. Natural water is energizing. it caries all the vibrant energy of mother earth and then amplifies it.

however, when water is treated improperly, it can actually die. Stagnant water is dead water. Much of the water of the world is dead, dirty and contaminated. Countries, including our own, are having a major water crisis. Even the water coming to you in the pipes of your home are not usually safe for drinking, or even bathing due to contaminants that come into our water both at the treatment facility and on the way to our house in the pipes that carry it.

What can you do?

Fortunately, water has a way of cleansing it's self if given the right environment. Water can be cleaned in several ways:

  • Filtration
  • Distillation
  • Freezing
  • Structuring or Charging

This article is the first in a series talking about the above-mentioned ways of cleansing water and why it is important for your optimum health. It is also my hope to educate you as to the true nature of water and how it deserves our respect and mindful use of it.

Water Filtration

  • Filtration is the first step that we should use to start the process of purifying water, but it is not the only process that it needs to go through before becoming not only clean on a cellular level but clean on a molecular and energetic level.
  • Filtration will take out anything that is too big to pass through the filter, it still does not change the water on a cellular level.
  • Many modern filtration systems push the water through a system called reverse osmosis. This process presses the water through a very dense filter with large amounts of pressure. This pressure can and does breakdown the structure of water only adding to the abuse that it has endured on it's the way to your house.
  • Basic filtration is great for removing particulates, however, germs, microbes, and pathogens can sometimes still exist in water even after filtration. For this reason, most municipal water systems add some sort of chlorine to the water. Chlorine will kill 99.9% of harmful microscopic elements. The downside is that Chlorine is a costive substance that should not be ingested.

  • When filtration is done in nature, it is usually the last step of cleaning water. Although rainwater has been cleansed from the natural process of evaporation which is a natural distillation process.
  • As the water runs off and soaks into the ground it is filtered and remails underground as groundwater, or runs off into nearby bodies of water. This groundwater is usually flowing.
  • Natural filtration when not contaminated is the most alive and natural water you can experience. Unless you live in a pristine area where you have access to naturally filtered water, it is highly unlikely that you will have access to water of this caliber on a regular basis.  Although occasionally you can find a spring that is open to the public that will allow you to harvest water.
  • Again this type of filtering can sometimes leave behind germs, microbes, and pathogens in the water.

Water Filters

Filtering can easily be done in our homes with the use of a particulates filter such as a Berkey Filter, Zero Water or Britta. Most of these filters will also take out chemical contaminants as well as larger particles. Be sure to check with the manufacturer before buying as to the capability of a given filter.

These type of filters are gravity feed, NOT reverse osmosis, and emulate how water is filtered naturally.

The filters featured on this page are ones that I am familiar with and would recommend.

Health Benefits of drinking filtered water

Drinking good clean water is not only much more enjoyable than drinking dirty or questionable quality water. It is also important for our good health. As more water is contaminated by negligent use of pesticides and chemicals, water filters have grown in popularity.  Unfortunately, there are many more chemicals that can find their way into our water.

Chemicals

  • Fluoride and Chloride
  • Pesticides
  • Arsenic
  • Mercury
  • Lead
  • Aluminum
  • Cryptosporidium and Giardia

Benefits

There are many benefits to drinking and even bathing with filtered water. Some of those benefits include:

  • Promotes the absorption of vital nutrients
  • Improved skin health
  • Detoxifies your body
  • Improved overall family health
  • Reduces water bottle consumption
  • Good for the environment

Filtering your water is one of the most proactive things you can do for your overall health and the health of your family. Don't wait any longer, take the first step to improve your health with the use of fresh clean water.

Filtering water is just the first step in creating energetically clean and charged water for your optimum health!
